HKJAY - Jamie Chung.
Jamie currently leads as the Co-Director and Co-Founder at Cloudpunk Studios, where they focus on crafting unique animated stories and content. The most recent being, ‘The Rise of Blus’.
Originally starting in finance after college, Jamie quickly realized his heart was elsewhere. Choosing to follow his passion, he left that world to explore the realm of 3D animation, a field far removed from his original career path.
He began his journey in animation at a modest TV commercial studio, tackling general tasks and dedicating his free time to learning the art of animation. This dedication led to a pivotal opportunity with Luma Pictures in Melbourne, working on his first TV show, "Figaro Pho."
Jamie's career took a significant turn when he joined Animal Logic for "The Lego Batman Movie," a move that set the stage for further projects like "The Lego Ninjago Movie," "Peter Rabbit 1," and "The Lego Movie 2." His journey also included stints at Framestore, contributing to VFX for "His Dark Materials," and at Cinesite, working on "Riverdance." During the pandemic, Jamie returned to Animal Logic to work on "The League of Super Pets", and also contributed to the Oscar Nominated Film "The Seabeast" at Sony, before he embarked on his independent path.
In 2022, he worked on a range of generalist gigs, whilst collaborating with his now Co-Founder, Billy Dao, in several short form animated content. This spurred on bigger and bigger projects which then led them to create Cloudpunk Studios together.
